Two weeks into the 2019, Cuyahoga Falls football has already doubled its win total from the previous two seasons.
The Black Tigers moved to 2-0 on the year with a 19-6 win over Akron Springfield Friday at Clifford Stadium.
Following up on his school-record seven rushing touchdowns in week one, senior running back Robert Graves scored two more touchdowns, including a 50-yard score to put Falls us 19-0 in the first half.
Falls will host Barberton Friday at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, Walsh Jesuit dropped to 0-2 on the season, as it lost its home opener 34-7 to rival St. Vincent-St. Mary Friday at Conway Memorial Stadium.
Walsh was able to tie the game at 7-7 early in the second quarter then quarterback Cameron Mayes tossed a 24-yard touchdown pass to Dom Grguric. However, the Irish would score 27 unanswered points to close out the game.
The Irish dominated that ground game, finishing with a 276-14 edge in rushing yard.
Walsh will welcome Columbus Bishop Watterson to Memorial Stadium next Friday at 7 p.m.
