Four of the Western Reserve Academy girls tennis team’s six matches have been determined by one game.

Unfortunately, the Pioneers have lost each of those close encounters.

Host Reserve dropped to 0-6 in 2019 after losing to Gates Mills Hawken 3-2 Thursday.

The Hawks won all three singles’ matches to clinch the victory. The Pioneers’ doubles teams of Katie Chen and Hannah Ma (6-1, 6-3) and Rowena Ge and Lauren Landry (7-6, 6-2) claimed wins.
