The Cuyahoga Falls volleyball team is still searching for its first win of the season.

The Black Tigers lost to former state champion Brecksville-Boadview Heights 25-8, 25-8, 25-15 Tuesday. Scores were not available at press time. The Suburban League National Conference showdown took place Tuesday in Broadview Heights.

Falls also lost to Suburban League crossover rival Aurora 25-13, 25-11, 25-19 Saturday on the road.

The Black Tigers (0-5, 0-3) showed some fight in their previous National Conference matches.

Falls had chances to take a couple of sets against Twinsburg, but ultimately lost 25-21, 25-17, 25-23 Aug. 29 at Coach Tom Jones Court.

Kaelyn Staples led the way with six kills, three blocks and two aces. Olivia Lemmon had seven kills and a block and Braylon Arsenault finished with four kills and three blocks for the Black Tigers.

Others who fared well for Falls were Hope Cuppett (five kills), Maddie Gibbons (20 assists) and Abbey Rowan (16 digs).

The Black Tigers also made things interesting against host North Royalton Aug. 28. Again, though, Falls came up a little short as the Bears posted a 25-18, 25-22, 25-22 victory.

Staples had 13 digs and five kills and Lemmon contributed eight kills. Gibbons finished with 19 assists and Rowan added nine digs.

The Black Tigers are scheduled to host conference foe Wadsworth Thursday at 6:30 p.m. They are set to visit Woodridge for a tri-match with the Bulldogs and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Saturday. Play is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

Falls is set to visit conference rivals Hudson next Tuesday and Nordonia Sept. 12 in Macedonia. Both varsity matches are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
