The Tallmadge boys golf team suffered a tough loss against a Suburban League American Conference rival Thursday.
Host Barberton handed the Blue Devils a 176-187 defeat at Barberton Brookside Country Club in Norton.
Darin Hudak shot a 38 to earn medalist honors for Tallmadge (2-3). He hit five of seven fairways and reached the green seven times. He also took just 16 putts.
Meanwhile, the Magics (4-1) had four players shoot less than 50. Rounding out the team scoring for the Blue Devils were Caleb Fairhurst (49), Ty Kester (50) and Isaiah Ulrich (50).
"If we had made some short putts, we could have been right with them," Tallmadge head coach Jon Shomo said. "Three of our six players had more than 20 putts and I personally watched every Blue Devil three-putt the fourth hole."
