The Aurora boys cross country team placed sixth with 191 points at the 25-team Frank Gibas Meet Saturday at Kenston High School in Bainbridge Township.

The host Bombers easily won the competition with 61 points and Hunting Valley University (109) and Brecksville-Broadview Heights (125) captured second and third, respectively.

Boardman’s Mitchel Dunham placed first out of 231 runners with a winning time of 15 minutes, 30 seconds. University’s Justin Iler was right behind him in 15:30.1.

Matthew Singleton led the Greenmen with a third-place clocking of 15:56.6. Andrew Ploskunak was next for Aurora in 23rd (17:02).

Rounding out the top five for the Greenmen were Samuel Siedel (47th, 17:36.4), Justin Hartland (52nd, 17:40.1) and Jack Deptola (69th, 17.56.4).

The Aurora girls finished 13th with 94 points. Kenston won the 30-team competition with 82 points and Uniontown Green (119) and Cleveland Heights Beaumont (127) placed second and third, respectively.

Beaumont’s Mia Mlynek and Addison Ciecierski took the top two spots in the 230-member race. Mlynek crossed the finish line in 18:44 and Ciecierski finished in 18:51.7.

Mikayla Jones led the Greenmen with a 29th-place clocking of 20:37.5. Victoria Blechschmid was next for Aurora in 37th (20:48.2).

Rounding out the top five for the Greenmen were Stephanie Lubin (70th, 21:38.6), Alexis Horvath (21:39.5) and Dylynn Lasky (87th, 21:58.2).
