The Western Reserve Academy girls tennis team made its 2019 debut Saturday on its home courts.

The Pioneers placed third at the five-team WRA Doubles Tournament. Shaker Heights won the competition and Gates Mills Hawken was the runner-up.

Leading the way for Reserve was the duo of senior captains of Rowena Ge and Lauren Landry, who finished second in Flight C.

WRA also had two other teams place third. They were senior captain Katie Chen and sophomore Hannah Ma (Flight A) and junior Chelsea Dodson and sophomore Alexandre Tang (Flight D).
