The host Western Reserve Academy boys soccer team made a stellar 2019 debut with a 2-1 victory over Canton Central Catholic Saturday.

Matthew Randazzo and Luis Rosa de la Silva scored for the Pioneers. Orion Mills had Reserve’s lone assist.

Zach Leatherman scored for the Crusaders off an assist from James Brown.

WRA goalkeeper Sebastian Staddon made four saves in the nets. The Pioneers had an 11-7 advantage in shots on goal. Canton Central Catholic had a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.
