Numerous members of the Hudson girls lacrosse community spent their summer playing with Llama Lax club team.
Llama Lax was created so Hudson girls could bond as teammates, while competing against the best club teams from across the region and nationally without having to go to an independent and for-profit club team Llama Lax competes at the most competitive high school division at every tournament, usually against ‘all-star’ travel/club teams made up of upperclassmen.
This summer was a successful one for Llama Lax. The club won the Varsity Gold championship at the Ohio Lacrosse Festival in Columbus June 8 and 9, defeating Lucky Lax from Columbus 7-6 in the title game. Llama’s Kate Orazen was voted tournament MVP.
Llama Lax also reached the semifinals of the MidAmerica Invitational at Westfield, Indiana on June 29-30, as it was eliminated by Black Jack Lax of Columbus.
On July 13 and 14 Pipe City Lacrosse Festival in Vernon Hills, Illinois. Llama Lax won the girls high school gold championships, defeating Vandal Lacrosse from Washington 8-7 in the final, which avenged an 8-6 loss to Vandal in pool play. The Llamas’ Sarah Hinkle was voted tournament.
Llama Lax is coached by Kayla Miller with assistant coaches Elizabeth Hinkle and Kendall Paltani.
