The Stow-Munroe Falls boys soccer team participated in a tournament, which took place Saturday at Troy Intermediate School in Avon Lake.

This was the first time the high school team participated in the Avon Lake Tournament.

The Bulldogs settled for draws in all three games.

They had scoreless ties with Avon Lake and Westlake and earned a 1-1 draw against Avon. Tristan Mattson scored the lone goal for Stow.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to attend the Ohio Wesleyan University Soccer Camp in Delaware, Ohio, July 9-11.

Other upcoming preseason tournaments include Copley, Perrysburg, Strongsville and the Haley Hopkins Memorial soccer tournament, which is set to take place July 13 at Stow-Munroe Falls High School.

Additionally, the boys team, which also features Austin Butts, Caden Hayward, Nathan Collins, Josh Colvis, Jonathan Czerwony, Nick Winkler, Sean Flanagan, Chris Miller, Ethan Hearty, Eric Caldwell, Caleb Benci, Nick Kuhlke, Jared Kasper, Connor Quinn, Blake Engle, Jesse C, Hayden Herman, Travis Shrout and Niles Spann, will have many friendly matches with other local teams.

The Stow Goal Club is looking for regular-season game sponsorships. The club’s annual yard sale is scheduled to take place Aug. 3 in front of the high school.

Proceeds from the club’s fundraisers go to the ongoing improvements, lights and maintenance of the soccer stadium at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. The Stow Goal Club is a nonprofit organization.
