Burning River Roller Derby, Cleveland’s women’s flat-track roller derby league, recently announced its final season home bout, which is scheduled for June 29 at C.E. Orr Ice Arena in Euclid.
In honor of Pride Month, fans sporting Pride gear to the bout will receive a $3 discount on their tickets. Doors to the venue are set to open at 5 p.m. and the bout between the Burning River All Stars and the Motor City Disassembly Line are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
The second bout of the night will be a showdown of captains as Cora Borealis and Deja Voodoo split the Hazmat team in two, pitting friend against friend in their final contest. This will be the last chance to catch a Burning River Roller Derby home bout until their next season.
In addition to the on-skate entertainment, Burning River Roller Derby is set to host the musical talents of emerging local artist Jamie Maxine for their half-time show.
For season 13, Burning River Roller Derby is partnering with three charities to give back to the community. Burning River’s 2019 charity partners are City Dogs, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation.
Cash donations for all charities will be happily received at the event as well as any item donations for City Dogs and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Fans who donate to the charity of their choice will receive a chance to spin the BRRD prize wheel at all regular-season games.
City Dogs’ wish list can be accessed at https://tinyurl.com/NewKennelWishlist. Big Brothers Big Sisters’ wish list includes jackets, socks and toiletry items such as feminine products, toothbrushes and combs.
