The Hudson softball team had its most successful season in several years.

The Explorers finished 20-4 overall and shared the Suburban League National Conference title with Wadsworth and Brecksville-Broadview Heights. All three teams finished 11-3 in the National Conference.

As a result of Hudson’s success, several players earned postseason honors.

Sophomore Maddie Roukey was named the National Conference Pitcher of the Year after finishing 11-2.

She also earned Division I second-team All-Northeast Ohio District honors and was named the team’s Ray Hyser Award winner.

Head coach Jeff Kurtz was named the National Conference co-Coach of the Year and the Northeast Ohio District co-Coach of the Year.

Other awards are as follows.

National Conference first team: Cami Madar, Olivia Stefanoni and Katie Carrillo

National Conference second team: Laurel Gomersal, Sadie Mrakuzic and Macy Peck

National Conference honorable mention: Paige Albrecht and Ava Butina

Second-team all-district: Madar and Stefanoni

The Explorers also were named the Ohio Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association academic team champion.
