The Tallmadge boys track and field team is in fourth place with 21 points after Thursday’s Division II district meet at Bearcat Stadium in Bedford.

The competition is scheduled to resume Saturday at 10 a.m.

Garrett Ansley finished in a tie for first in the pole vault with a height of 12 feet. The top four athletes in each event and top four relay teams advanced.

Also advancing was Nick Hussing, who placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 20-8 ¼.

Eli Zander qualified for the regional competition with a fourth-place throw of 126-1 in the discus. Also scoring team points for the Blue Devils was Ben Hudak, who finished seventh in the long jump (19-7 ¼).

Qualifying for Saturday’s finals were Hussing in the 200-meter dash; Jarod Shumaker in the 800; Lucca Passarelli in the 110 and 300 hurdles; Dylan Phelps in the 110 and 300 hurdles and the 400 and 800 relay teams.
