The road to a third straight trip to the state tournament began for the Tallmadge baseball team Wednesday.
So far, so good.
The host Blue Devils cruised to a 10-4 victory over sixth-seeded Canal Fulton Northwest in a Louisville Division II sectional title game at Dave Young Field.
With the win, third-seeded Tallmadge is scheduled to visit third-seeded Louisville in a district semifinal contest next Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Todd Bangston got the win on the mound. He pitched four innings before handing the ball to Jake Reifsnyder, who finished the game.
The Blue Devils took control with seven runs in the bottom of the fifth. Tallmadge trailed 4-2 at the time.
Reifsnyder finished with two hits and three runs scored and Sam Seeker had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs for the Blue Devils (15-6).
Bangston, Rich Eyre and Orion Kroah each had two hits and an RBI and Brandon Golubski had a single and two RBIs.
