The Hudson boys track and field team is in third place with 29 points after Wednesday’s Division I district competition at Nordonia High School’s Boliantz Stadium in Macedonia.
The 3,200-meter relay team of Lucas Lay, Luke Good, Adam Beucler and Evan Manley cruised to a district title with a time of 8 minutes, 3.54 seconds. They won by more than eight seconds.
The top four athletes in each event and top four relay teams advanced to the regional competition.
Nathan Slater and Kevin Toth finished fourth and fifth respectively, with distances of 143 feet, 10 inches and 143 feet in the discus.
Hunter Trautmann placed fifth in the pole vault with a height of 12-4. Teammate Noah Beseda captured seventh with a height of 12 feet.
Qualifying for Friday’s finals were Jacob Clary in the 110 hurdles; Samoid Reed Jr. in the 100 and 200; Nivash Jayaram in the 100; the 800 relay team of Jayaram, Ethan Feisthamel, Clary and Reed Jr.; the 400 relay team of Dominic LaMarca, Marshall Whited, Colin Pierce and Reed Jr.; Feisthamel in the 400; Lay in the 800; Good in the 800; and the 1,600 relay team of Hunter Norman, Dylan Manley, Lay and Good.
