The host Western Reserve Academy softball team improved to 10-2 in 2019 after rolling past Akron Our Lady of the Elms 8-1 Friday.
Josie Spano picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle. She allowed no earned runs and just three hits in seven innings. She finished with 10 strikeouts and three walks.
Spano also had a stellar day at the plate with a double, two walks, two runs scored and an RBI.
Graicen Radel scored three times and had a single, two walks and a stolen base. Lauren Radel drove in two runs and had two hits, including a double, and a run scored.
Also faring well for the Pioneers was Trinity Refosco, who had a single, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored.
