The Tallmadge boys tennis team finished sixth with three points in the seven-team American Conference at the Suburban League tennis tournament Saturday at Highland High School in Granger Township.
Revere won the competition with 38 points and Highland (32) and Copley (29) placed second and third, respectively.
The Minutemen also won the overall title with 16 points. The Hornets placed second with 14 points and the Indians took third with 12 points.
The Blue Devils finished sixth in the overall standings, as well, with three points.
Both of Tallmadge’s doubles teams placed fourth.
The No. 1 team of Aaron Andrea and Joe Williamson lost to Aurora’s Ricky John and Krishna Mahankali 6-2, 6-2 in the consolation final.
Andrea and Williamson defeated Barberton’s Devin Ramsey and Coby Kamp 6-4, 6-4 in their quarterfinal match before losing to Revere’s Will Sun and Esa Mailk 6-1, 6-1 in their semifinal match.
The No. 2 team of Parker Ramp and Carson Cowley lost to Kent Roosevelt’s Luke Jenkins and Zach Jenkins 7-5, 6-1 in the consolation final.
Ramp and Cowley defeated the Magics’ Jared Matheson and Sean Sutter 6-0, 4-6, 6-2 in their first match before falling to Highland’s Owen Gsellman and Brendan Noonan 6-1, 6-0 in their semifinal match.
Reece Parry and Sam Suber finished sixth at first and second singles, respectively, for the Blue Devils.
Parry lost his opening-round match and then defeated Barberton’s Stefan Kravljaca 8-6. Parry lost to the Greenmen’s Mitchell Curtis 8-0 in the fifth-place match.
After losing his first-round match, Suber defeated the Magics’ Chedo Bundalo 8-6. Suber lost to Kent Roosevelt’s Erik Martin 8-4 in the fifth-place match.
