The Hudson girls lacrosse team dropped to 6-1 on the season after losing to Upper Arlington 7-5 Saturday at Thomas Worthington High School.

The Golden Bears have won multiple state titles in their illustrious history. The Explorers, on the other hand, are seeking their first trip to the state championship match. Hudson has reached the state semifinals seven times.

Maggie Palumbo led Hudson’s offense with three goals and one assist. Kendall Paltani had two assists and Emily Ritenour and Peyton Farley each scored once for the Explorers.

Hudson lost 10 of 14 draws and finished with 12 turnovers. Jamison Cart scooped up five ground balls and Explorers’ goalie Addie Judson made five saves between the pipes.

Hudson didn’t leave Worthington empty-handed.

The Explorers posted a thrilling 9-8 victory over Worthington Kilbourne Saturday.

Paltani paced Hudson with three goals and one assist. Sarah Hinkle and Lily Edwards each had two goals and Cart and Mary Castrigano each scored once. Hinkle also picked up a team-five ground balls.

The Explorers won half of their draws (9 of 18) and got five saves from Judson.
