Last year, the Aurora, Tallmadge and Highland softball teams shared the Suburban League American Conference championship.

If the Greenmen wanted to repeat, they knew they would have to go through both the Blue Devils and Hornets to do so.

It’s early, but Aurora isn’t off to a particularly good start.

The host Greenmen lost to Highland 3-0 Monday. Aurora also lost to Tallmadge the previous week and is just 2-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference.

Rachael Dudziak took the loss for the Greenmen. She allowed two earned runs on nine hits in 4 ? innings of work. She finished with three strikeouts and two walks.

Mackenzie Krafcik entered the game in the fifth and got out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam.

However, Aurora never got its bats going.

Lauren Callahan and Julia Mazanec each had two hits for the Greenmen, who finished with a total of eight hits.
