The host Western Reserve Academy baseball team settled for a split with Gates Mills Hawken Saturday.

The Pioneers earned an 18-4 victory in the first game, but they lost 6-5 in the second game.

In the first game, Jake Pendergraft got the win on the mound. He finished with five strikeouts in five innings of work.

Noah Frato-Sweeney led Reserve’s offense with three hits, three RBIs and three runs scored. Matt Filippelli also had three hits and Colin McKenna drove in three runs for WRA.

In the second game, Pendergraft smacked three hits and scored two runs. He also had two stolen bases.

Matt Doherty added two hits, two RBIs and two stolen bases for the Pioneers.
