The Aurora baseball team settled for a split with Riverside Saturday in Painesville.
The Greenmen earned an 11-2 victory after losing the first game 10-4.
In the second game, Aurora (4-4) scored five runs in the third inning and jumped out to a 7-0 lead. The Greenmen didn’t look back the rest of the way.
Aurora finished with 15 hits and no errors. Jack Fecko picked up the win on the mound. He allowed two hits and one run in six innings of work. He finished with five strikeouts.
John Papesh, Cooper Bizjak, Colin McNamara and Andrew Horvath each had three hits for the Greenmen.
Two of Bizjak’s hits were doubles and one of Horvath’s base knocks was a double.
McNamara drove in two runs and scored two more and Horvath scored two runs and drove in another. Bizjak scored three runs and Papesh had two RBIs. Michael Carpenter had a single and three RBIs for Aurora.
The Greenmen finished with 10 hits and five errors in the first game. The Beavers scored four runs in the second inning and then put it away with six runs in their final three innings at the plate. Riverside had six hits and no errors.
Starter Adam Ryncarz took the loss despite allowing no earned runs in two innings. Aurora’s pitchers issued 12 walks.
