The Western Reserve Academy boys tennis team made a stellar 2019 debut Thursday.

The host Pioneers earned a commanding 5-0 victory over Chardon Notre Dame Cathedral Latin.

Kai Cheung earned a 6-3, 6-4 win at first singles. The Pioneers won a couple of close matches at second and third singles, respectively.

Keshav Mody earned a hard-fought 7-6 (7-5 in the tiebreaker), 6-1 victory and Ivan Cheuk rallied to win 4-6, 6-1, 10-1.

Reserve’s first doubles’ team of Kevin Deng and Henry Ong posted a 6-4, 6-3 victory. WRA earned a forfeit win at second doubles.
