Hudson Kiwanis Baseball is making changes to its high school and middle school age programs for the upcoming season.
Both age groups (15- through 18-year-olds and 13- and 14-year-olds) will be joining the Twinsburg Baseball League in 2019.
"The goal of our program has always been to give as many young people in our community as possible the opportunity to play baseball," said Tim Dixon, commissioner of the Hudson Kiwanis High School baseball leagues.
"Partnering with Twinsburg helps us achieve that goal and should improve the experience for our players and their families."
For the past 10 years, there have been four high school level teams from Hudson each season that have competed against squads from Stow and various other nearby communities.
The Twinsburg Baseball League features teams from Solon, Aurora, Nordonia and Streetsboro as well as Twinsburg.
In addition to playing against teams from more communities, the 13- and 14-year-old season starts when the school year is nearly complete.
This is several weeks later than in the past and is expected to allow more student athletes to participate.
Teams in both age groups will be formed by the end of April and registration is underway at hudsonkiwanis.com.
