It’s a very modest streak, especially since it has struggled massively throughout the season.
But the Western Reserve Academy girls basketball team is on a two-game winning streak.
The host Pioneers cruised to a 32-21 victory over Akron Ellet Saturday. Reserve took a 12-4 lead in the first quarter and didn’t let the Orangemen get too close the rest of the way.
Megan Hovan had a huge game for WRA (3-14).
She finished with 10 points and was a menace defensively with eight blocked shots.
Jill Spano scored eight points and Ellie Siegenthaler knocked down a pair of 3-pointers for the Pioneers.
"It was a team win and we did a nice job of breaking their press," Reserve head coach Emily Thews-Baldridge said. "Jill, Graicen (Radel), Ellie, Kyra (Bradley) and Micayla (Brent) rotated through at the top of the zone and did a great job of containing their guards."
