The host Hudson ice hockey team concluded its regular season with a win.
The Explorers earned a 3-2 victory over Cleveland Heights Sunday at Kent State University Ice Arena.
Hudson improved to 14-12-2 on the season and finished 4-6-1 in the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League Red North East Division.
The Explorers, who finished fourth in the division, have a rematch with the Tigers in Baron Cup play. Hudson is scheduled to play Cleveland Heights (14-11-3, 4-5-1) in the opening round of the Baron Cup I tournament Wednesday at Brooklyn Ice Rink. Game time is set for 8:30 p.m.
Trailing 2-1 heading into the final period, the Explorers scored two unanswered goals to hold off the Tigers.
Cam Slifko scored his second goal of the game just 42 seconds into the period to tie things up and Blake Lori scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal five minutes later.
Brady Ludewig added two assists and Slifko, Luke Karnofel and Alex Cole each had one assist.
Hudson goaltender Will Hannon finished with 18 saves. The Explorers had a 31-20 advantage in shots on goal.
Hudson lost to Cleveland Benedictine 1-0 Saturday in Cleveland Heights. The Bengals scored the lone goal with 1 minute, 39 seconds left in the game.
