The host Hudson girls bowling team improved to 8-3 overall and 6-2 in the Suburban League after earning a 2,063-1,879 victory over Kent Roosevelt Monday at Sto-Kent Family Entertainment in Stow.

The Explorers, who reached their highest total of the season, trailed by 61 pins after the first game, but they won the second game by 128 pins.

Hudson also won all three Baker games, including a 220-131 win in the first game.

Dani Maurer led the Explorers with a career-high 224 game. She also bowled a 168 game.

Ariana Ellis also had a stellar day for Hudson with scores of 201 and 143, respectively.

Also faring well for the Explorers were Olivia Norton (127 and 168), Natalie Gilles (150), Alyssa Germano (149) and Katie Titmas (126).

The boys team, on the other hand, was no match for the first-place Rough Riders.

Roosevelt handily defeated the boys team 2,736-2,236.

Logan Loeffler led Hudson (2-10, 2-7) with scores of 186 and 222. Jay Boyden was next with scores of 204 and 178.

Also competing for the Explorers were Andrew Fernando (166), Jacob Kenerson (151), Cooper Jenks (148) and Trey Grega (142).

Hudson is scheduled to return to Sto-Kent Family Entertainment to bowl against Suburban League rival Stow-Munroe Falls Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The Explorers are set to compete at the Suburban League Tournament Saturday at Legends Lanes in Cuyahoga Falls. Bowling is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.

Hudson is set to visit Suburban League rival Tallmadge in its regular-season finale Feb. 11 at Stonehedge Entertainment in Akron. Bowling is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
