The Aurora ice hockey team secured its third win in a row Friday night at the Pond in Chagrin Falls, pummeling Brecksville-Broadview Heights 7-2 to improve to 6-3 in the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League Blue North Division and 11-7 overall.
The Greenmen controlled the game early, leading 3-0 after the first period, and never looked back. Scoring two goals in each of the final two periods.
Freshman Mike Mancine had two goals and an assist and senior Jack Pfiffner had a goal and two assists. Junior Patrick Murray and freshman Nathan Funk had a goal and an assist apiece and junior Maxx Goldston had two assists. Junior Jack McElwee and sophomore Cameron Mullin had one goal apiece.
Senior goaltender Jordan Smith made 18 saves as he grabbed his 10th win of the season in goal for Aurora.
Brice Hall and Shahil Merchant each had a goal for the Bees and Justin Blauman stopped 41 Greenmen shots as Brecksville fell to 4-5 in the division and 5-10 overall.
