Hudson freshman Isabella DiTullio placed third with 334.3 points in the diving competition at the Suburban League Meet Thursday at Twinsburg High School.
Highland’s Madeline Lutzko won the competition with 392.65 points and Aurora’s Kylie Palian was the runner-up with 371.25 points.
The top 12 divers made the final cut. DiTullio, who had a personal-best 11-dive score, placed first among National Conference divers.
"It was a great way for Isabella to get her career started in the Suburban League Conference," Explorers head coach Matt Davis said. "Isabella has been trying new dives that will continue to help her down the road."
On the boys’ side, junior Hunter Trautmann placed fourth overall and third among National Conference divers with a career-best 371.1 points. That total was Trautmann’s personal best by 50 points.
Wadsworth’s Gabe Currens won the boys’ competition with 449.65 points and Aurora’s Drew Albrecht (430.85) and Twinsburg’s Brad Yates (382.8) finished second and third, respectively.
Also faring well for the Explorers were Dylan Montgomery (eighth, 253.9) and Evan Hamm (ninth, 253.05).
"It was a great performance by the divers to get the conference meet started," Davis said. "It is great to see our divers continue to improve and perform well at big meets.
"Hunter has really improved in the last year and he continues to try new dives and work on his skills."
