The Tallmadge boys bowling team was the runner-up at the Christmas Invitational Wednesday at Stonehedge Entertainment in Akron.
The Blue Devils, who qualified sixth out of 23 teams with a total of 3,902, defeated third-seeded Uniontown Green 3-0 and seventh-seeded Copley 3-1 before falling to top-seeded Woodridge 3-1 in the final.
The top eight teams qualified for tournament play. Each team bowled three regular games and six Baker games.
Wilson led Tallmadge in the three regular games with a series’ total of 712. He rolled games of 267, 229 and 216, respectively.
Parker Braccio was next for the Blue Devils with a 637 series (189, 259 and 189). Also competing for Tallmadge were Josh Parry (164, 203 an 161), Patrick Stachowiak (177, 162 and 164) and Cooper Randolph (173 and 153).
The girls grabbed the eighth and final spot to advance to tournament play on a roll-off against Massillon Washington. The Blue Devils finished with a total of 3,160 to force a roll-off.
Tallmadge ended up losing to eventual Massillon Perry in the quarterfinal round. A total of 18 teams competed.
Kirsten Moore led the Blue Devils with a 599 series. She rolled games of 212, 205 and 187, respectively.
Isabelle Hall was next for Tallmadge with scores of 130, 151 and 190. Also competing for the Blue Devils were Florence Drayer (93, 132 and 157), Aileena Sargent (108, 150 and 117) and Morgan Cool (127, 118 and 116).
