The Hudson ice hockey team lost to Rocky River 5-0 Sunday at the Thornton Park Tournament in Shaker Heights.
The Pirates (11-4-2) scored twice in the second period and three more in the third to pull away. The Explorers (10-6) had players in the penalty box for a total of 16 minutes.
Rocky River scored off the opening face-off in the second period.
Aidan Dempsey scored a power-play goal off an assist from Luke Mallett. Just 56 seconds later, Tommy Kelly scored on another power play.
A 20-minute scoring drought came to an end at the 7:23 mark of the third when Danny Asmar scored a power-play goal off a Luke Witzigreuter feed.
Twelve seconds later, Nathan Curry made it 4-0 and then, less than 90 seconds later, Dempsey scored his second goal of the game.
