Playing at a breakneck pace and filling up the net has not been the Western Reserve Academy girls basketball team’s style in recent years.

That was just fine Saturday.

The Pioneers’ plodding style was a thing of beauty in Cleveland.

Reserve earned its first win of the season after posting a 39-30 victory.

Megan Hovan had a huge game for WRA (1-2). She finished with 21 points. Freshman Josie Spano added seven points, including a 5-of-6 effort from the free throw line.
