With a number of new faces, the Western Reserve Academy boys basketball team struggled to find its groove in its season debut.

The Pioneers looked much more comfortable less than 24 hours later.

Host Reserve rebounded from a convincing loss with a 45-30 victory over Gates Mills Hawken Saturday at the Murdough Athletic Center.

WRA led from start to finish and got a strong all-around game from Ben Daugherty, who finished with 13 points, seven assists, five steals and four rebounds.

Trevor Wood added 13 points and Dorde Otasevic finished with 14 rebounds, six points, three blocks, two assists and two steals for the Pioneers.

Alex Lammers and Arjun Garcha each pulled down seven rebounds for Reserve (1-1).
