The Hudson girls basketball team figured to have trouble scoring in bunches this season.

If that is supposed to be the case, Saturday was a pleasant exception.

The host Explorers earned a lopsided 60-23 victory over Brecksville-Broadview Heights in their 2018-19 Suburban League National Conference debut at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.

Hudson (1-1) outscored the Bees 21-9 in the second quarter to take a 29-13 lead at halftime.

The Explorers put all matters to rest by outscoring Brecksville 21-6 in the third period.

Freshman Delaney DiGeronimo led Hudson with 13 points and freshman Ali Menendez added 11 points for Hudson.

Kate Orazen contributed nine points for the Explorers.
