The Hudson girls volleyball team has struggled against a very competitive Suburban League National Conference schedule this fall.
On Thursday, the Explorers needed a big-time jolt after an embarrassing three-set loss to Twinsburg two days earlier.
Hudson didn’t pull off an upset against the National Conference’s top heavyweight.
But the Explorers certainly took major steps forward after their massive struggles against the Tigers.
Host Hudson concluded conference play with a 25-18, 26-24, 22-25, 25-11 loss to Wadsworth Thursday at Ray "Buck" Hyser Gymnasium.
Regina Alvarez led the way for the Explorers with 14 kills, two blocks and an ace. Cami Madar finished with six kills and six blocks and Cailynn Sullivan contributed seven kills and five blocks.
Brooke Ramlow posted seven kills and four blocks and Allyson Yanaks had five kills and two blocks. Lindsay Sadler gave her hitters plenty of opportunities to attack with 43 assists and Kendall Mackay kept many rallies alive with 24 digs.
Also faring well for Hudson were Morgan Gaeta (16 digs and two aces) and Amelia Hoffmeier (15 digs).
