Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy coach Dan Larlham said he felt his team owed Fairless after last year’s 38-35 loss to the Falcons.

On Friday night at Royals Stadium, CVCA repaid the debt in style, smashing their way to a 35-7 win over the Falcons in the Principals Athletic Conference opener for both teams.

CVCA’s ground game was unstoppable Friday night, as the Royals outrushed the Falcons 280-89.

CVCA’s Jacob Decatur and Tre Tucker continued their big starts to the season. Decatur opened the scoring with a 3-yard run, followed by a 78-yard touchdown run from Tucker to make it 14-0 after one half.

Royals quarterback Michael Bevington then got into the act with a 4-yard touchdown run. Bevington had a decent evening, going 12-of-18 for 154 with one touchdown and one interception.

After Tucker returned a 60-yard punt return for a touchdown, Fairless got its lone score of the game early in the fourth quarter.

CVCA capped the scoring when Bevington hit Tucker for a 23-yard TD pass.

CVCA will travel to Canal Fulton to face Northwest next Friday at 7 p.m.
