If Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy football was looking for rebound after last week’s one-point loss to Aurora, they got it.

The Royals traveled to Canton South Friday and tore apart the Wildcats, coming home with 32-3 victory. CVCA improved to 2-1 with the win.

Senior Tre Tucker set the tone for the game returning the opening kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown. Canton South replied with a 31-yard field goal from Brady Noll, but that would be it for the Wildcats.

Running back Jordan Decatur had a big night, rushing 18 times for 179, including touchdown runs of 18 and 68 yards.

Tucker also scored two touchdowns, as he ran in 31-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. CVCA finished with a 338-170 edge in total yards.

CVCA would get two field goals of 26 and 32 yards from kick Bryce Kightliner, but Kightliner also missed two extra points on night.

The Royals defense snagged three interceptions on the night to keep Canton South winless at 0-3.

CVCA opens play in the Principals’ Athletic Conference next week, as Fairless will visit Royals’ Stadium at 7 p.m.
