For the most part, having four stellar players can be pivotal to a golf team’s success.

On Tuesday, Western Reserve Academy needed a fifth stellar player.

Fortunately for the Pioneers, Cameron Burford was happy to oblige.

Reserve earned a 235-236 victory over previously unbeaten Beachwood Tuesday at Lake Forest Country Club.

Burford’s score of 55 was the difference for WRA, which improved to 2-1 in 2018.

Drew Schnee led the Bison (7-1) with a 37 to earn medalist honors.

Josh Pethel led the Pioneers with a 43 and Nathan Beskid shot a 45. Also contributing to Reserve’s team score were Max Jewett (46) and Ella Siegenthaler (47).
