There are still plenty of courses to conquer before it can lay claim to the ultimate prize.
But the Stow-Munroe Falls boys golf is the team to beat in the National Conference race.
The Bulldogs won the eight-team National Conference with a score of 309 at the Suburban League preseason tournament Thursday at J.E. Good Park Golf Course in Akron.
North Royalton took second with a score of 322 and Hudson was a close third with a 323.
Kyle Buzaki took home medalist honors with a 73 to lead Stow. His teammate, Aaron Kim, finished fifth with a score of 77.
Dan Page added a 79 and Max Crookston contributed an 80 for the Bulldogs.
Stow’s title hopes will depend on its seven conference matches and the Suburban League postseason tournament later in the season.
