The host Hudson baseball team improved to 8-6 with a 10-1 victory over Gates Mills Gilmour Academy Thursday at The Ballpark at Hudson.

The game was called after six innings due to the 10-run mercy rule. The Explorers finished with 11 hits and two errors. They scored four runs in the third to take a 6-0 lead.

The Lancers finished with six hits and two errors.

Right-hander Parker Tallman got the win on the mound to improve to 2-0. He allowed zero runs and three hits while striking out four batters in four innings.

Ryan Mitcheltree led Hudson’s offense with two hits, including a double, and two runs scored.

Alec Jackson also had two hits and two RBIs.

Blake Farley had a single and two RBIs and Matt Mileski had a single, two RBIs, two stolen bases and a run scored for the Explorers.
