Team USA will be competing in the World Ju-Jitsu and Grappling Championships in Geneva, Switzerland, on Sept. 10 through 13.
The team’s goal is to gain $20,000 in sponsorship revenue for this event. Five of the Team USA members are training at the Team USA Training Center/Savage MMA and Fitness in Cuyahoga Falls.
Team USA/USA Sport Ju-Jitsu Alliance of Cuyahoga Falls is located at 1736 Front St. The team members who are training in Cuyahoga Falls are Josh Hendricks, Joshua Hillman, Stephanie Messmore, Andrew Newman and Justin Jones. There also are three coaches at the facility — head coach and grappling coach Brian Walsh and Hillman, who is the strength, conditioning and striking coach and also is a competitor, and Albert Pecoraro, striking and freestyle judo coach.
