The Football By Drake football camp will have its second season June 20 to 22 at Kent State University.

Youth players from ages 9 to 17 are invited for three days of instruction by youth, high school, college and professional coaches at Dix Stadium.

Sessions will run daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Campers are asked to bring a lunch June 20 and 21. Pizza and drinks will be provided June 22. Cost is $50 for those who register by May 31 and $55 thereafter. Proceeds will benefit the Mike Drake Memorial Scholarship Fund at KSU.

Stow Lady

Bulldog Basketball Camp returns

The 2007 Stow Lady Bulldog Basketball Camp will be June 11 to 15 at the Stow-Munroe Falls High School gymnasium. Sessions will run daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for girls entering grades four through nine.

Camp tuition is $100 for those registering a week before the session and $105 at the door.

Camp instructors will be the basketball coaches from the Stow-Munroe Falls girls basketball program. Varsity players also will assist with instruction.

Stow Football

The Stow Football youth skills camp will be June 12-14 at Bulldog Stadium at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. The camp is open to all boys and girls entering the second through ninth grade.

Sessions will run daily from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost is $50 and includes a camp T-shirt. Make checks payable to the Stow Gridiron Club and mail them to coach Marty Tinkler at Stow-Munore Falls High School at 3227 E. Graham Road, Stow 44224.

Sports physicals offered

Stow-Munroe Falls annual sport physicals will be at a new location this year. Physicals will be offered at the Akron Children's Hospital Physician Associates office, located at 1365 Corporate Drive, Suite A in Hudson.

Physicals will be June 2 from 1 to 4 p.m. at a cost of $20.

All student athletes are required to sign-up for a time period between 1 and 4 p.m. A sign-up list will be available in the high school athletic office with Mrs. Childress. Reserve a spot by calling 330-689-5204 during office hours 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Athletes are required to complete an OHSAA pre-participation physical form. Forms may be picked up at the athletic office, from Mrs. Martin at Kimpton Middle School or Mrs. Maghes at Lakeview. The form may also be obtained by downloading it from the state Web site at All forms must be completed and signed by parents and student athletes prior to arrival.
