Stow -- A 14-0 run from the 3:27 mark of the first quarter until the 7:19 mark in the second period helped send host Stow-Munroe Falls past Brush 75-52 Jan. 27 in Western Reserve Conference girls high school basketball action.

The Lady Bulldogs (15-2, 11-1 in the Western Reserve Conference) led 9-6 midway through the opening quarter before they scored the next 14 points to lead 23-6. Senior forward Alyssa Wagers capped the run off a nifty assist from senior guard Liana Jennings early in the second period.

After that, the Lady Arcs (3-12, 2-10 in the WRC) couldn't get any closer than 12 points at 23-11 and 25-13. Stow led 41-21 at the half as sophomore forward Kelsey MacWherter scored nine of her 11 points in the second quarter for the Lady Bulldogs.

The second half was more of the same as Stow's advantage kept growing and peaked at 71-38 when junior center Allison Pavkov sank a three-point goal with 4:29 remaining in the fourth period, capping an 11-0 run by the home team.

The Lady Bulldogs led 58-33 after three quarters of play.

Jennings led the Maroon and Gold with 18 points, including 12 in the second half while Ritchie (12 points, including four three-point goals) and MacWherter (11 points) also scored in double-figures for the Lady Bulldogs.

Jennings, Wagers, Ritchie [junior guard Emilee] and [senior guard Cate] Cianchetti also played well as usual. We're starting to get more contributions from everyone."
