Since February, I have been birding at Stow's Silver Springs Park/Bow Wow Beach where a variety of birds enjoy a cattail marsh, a lake and a brook.
Now that the weather is nicer, the park is always very busy with children at the SKiP Playground, people with dogs gleefully playing in the lake, and teenagers playing basketball. I encourage the parents of those teenagers to go see the mess they leave behind.
There are at least four large trash containers at the basketball court, but the teens leave their trash all over the ground and picnic tables for city employees to clean up.
There were at least 60 water bottles and drink cups littering the basketball area one morning.
Surely, parents, you have taught your kids better. Get together and make them respect themselves and the park that so many people enjoy.
