The recent "Cost of Freedom" tribute held in Twinsburg in early July, sponsored by Twinsburg Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4929, attracted close to 20,000 visitors to the event, according to Cmdr. Joe Jasany.

But that's not the only big event the post is hosting. There is one remaining Freedom 5K & Memorial Mile scheduled for Sept. 12. Jo-Ann McFearin of BHHS Professional Realty, the sponsor, says the Sept. 12 event will be held at Glenn Chamberlin Park (near the Twinsburg Community Center), 10260 Ravenna Road.

McFearin says residents from all communities are welcome to this "fantastic special event for the entire family."

Post-race activities include military and safety forces vehicles, music, chair massages, raffle baskets, snacks and more. Net proceeds from this event will be split among the following great programs: Twinsburg VFW Post 4929 and its outreach, the Twinsburg Police Department's "Shop With A Cop" program and the Twinsburg Fire Department's assistance in the ACBC program.

To register online, visit the race website at http://coffunfraising.wix.com/freedom5k.

Sponsors are welcome for the race, and items for raffle prizes. Questions? Email TwinsburgFreedom5Krace@gmail.com.
