I was surprised to read that the Stow-Munroe Falls School Board denied letting employees speak at the meeting June 11. Many of these employees are citizens of Stow, they pay taxes and some have children that attend our schools.
I feel all teachers and staff should be allowed to speak their minds at a public meeting, especially because the Board's actions directly affect the employees and their families. These dedicated people work with our children every day, and I don't believe silencing them is in the best interest of our children.
I am also concerned that John Pribonic wants to abandon the School Board and run for City Council. Why is it that the superintendent, the treasurer and the Board president want to leave?
I hope all the union employees stick together through all this mess. When the administration and the Board are long gone, the teachers and staff will still be here for our kids. I would like to urge the citizens of Stow and Munroe Falls to put some pressure on this Board to listen to its employees so we can move the focus back to educating our children.
