AURORA - Dennis F. Kennedy of Aurora, Ohio, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on July 28, 2020. He was born in Utica, New York the son of the late Francis and Ruth (Carr) Kennedy, and grew up in Syracuse, New York. He graduated from Westhill High School and Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Business. Dennis was recruited to play baseball and received a baseball scholarship from Syracuse. He spent his career in the banking and investments business. He also served on the Aurora Planning Commission until 2017.
In his leisure time, Dennis loved watching and playing sports, especially baseball. He loved going to all sporting events, playing a round of golf, running marathons. He enjoyed reading, especially history, walking (especially with his dogs), gardening, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. His infectious laugh and larger than life personality will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and spending time with him. Dennis was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels in Bainbridge Twp.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (LaFrate), daughters Kelly Mullen of Marshfield, MA., Kara (Rob) Malloy, of Pittsburgh, PA., grandchildren Kaitlyn, Joshua and Madelyne and several nieces and nephews. Dennis was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Due to the Covid restrictions, a memorial will be planned at a future date.
