HUDSON - William "Bill" Kenny (age 71) passed on Wednesday, May 13 2020 after his brave battle fighting cancer. Bill was the devoted husband for 44 years to Marge [Kegan] Kenny, loving father to son Michael and daughter Kaitlin [Phillip] Bridges as well as the proud “Pops” of granddaughter Grady. He is proceeded in death by his parents and two sisters. Bill was the fun loving brother-in-law, uncle and cousin to an extended family in Chicago.
Born in 1948, Bill was raised in Chicago. He graduated with a BS in business from St. Joseph College in Indiana and served 6 years in the Army Reserve. In 1975 Bill and Marge married and began their family in Hinsdale, Illinois. In 1999, they relocated to Hudson, Ohio. While their children were in the Hudson’s schools, Bill volunteered as a basketball coach and fundraiser for the Hudson Kiwanis and CYO Organizations
Bill's career extended 40 years in the American Steel Industry working in sales, marketing and management throughout Illinois and Ohio. Once retired, he was an active member of St. Mary’s Parish in Hudson, serving on the LAM board, co-chairing the men’s golf league, and volunteering in the Men’s Club. His humor, gift of conversation, and positive attitude touched so many lives. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed reading history, spending time with his family, and sharing laughs with his buddies.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank in Akron Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Bill's memory at St Mary Catholic Church in Hudson, OH on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 11:00 am. (MASKS ARE REQUIRED AND SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE OBSERVED.)
