Samuel "Sam" Ray Post
Samuel "Sam" Ray Post, 70, formerly of Hudson, Ohio passed away April 16, 2021.
Sam is survived by his children, Mark Post of Phoenix, AZ, Tracy Rousseau of Bowdoinham, ME, Tiffiny Post of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, Sheri Parnell of Hudson, and Sam Post II of Bradenton, FL, grandchildren Luccas Rousseau, Hannah Rousseau, DJ Leeman, Kaydn Neves, Chris Parnell, Alex Parnell, Ben Parnell, Michael Parnell, and Johanna Post, great-grandchildren Brady, Averie and Julian, sisters Cynthia Jentgens, Pamela Greenamyer, brother Ray Post, and many nieces and nephews. Sam was preceded in death his parents Ray and Virginia (nee Kepner) Post, and his brother George Post.
Sam was born in Bedford, Ohio on May 27, 1950, and grew up in Hudson. After graduating from Hudson High School, he worked for Mayflower and at both family pubs, Halfway Inn and Kepner's Tavern. He then owned and ran Kepner's for several decades before retiring to Florida to enjoy the warmth and sunshine. Sam loved playing cards, both with his family and his poker friends. He enjoyed traveling and boating, spending most weekends in summer taking family and friends waterskiing at West Branch. He was also known for playing pranks on those closest to him.
In honoring Sam's wishes, he was cremated and no funeral was held. A celebration of Sam's life will be held at Kepner's Tavern on Thursday, July 8th from 6:00pm-8:00pm. For those interested, please stop in to visit with his children, share your favorite Kepner's story, and raise a glass to Sam.
