Marlys Anderson

Hudson - Marlys J. Anderson, age 88, passed away on April 12, 2021 at the Arbors of Stow. She was the beloved mother of Linda Anderson, Kevin (Norma) Anderson and Gwen (Alan) Buckley; grandmother of Michael and Megan Buckley, Jason (Laureena) Teets; great grandmother of Kaelyn Staples, Madison and Ayva Teets; sister of Donald (Mary Margaret) Brustman; and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Marlys was born in Minnesota and had a passion for music obtaining her Bachelor's of Music from the University of Minnesota. Marlys lived in Hudson for 44 years and was an active member of the First Congregational Church where she enjoyed serving other seniors and those with special needs. She also served for 30 years as the choir director at St. John's Episcopal Church, Cuyahoga Falls, and was a member of the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus for 20 years. Prior to retiring to care for her much loved grandchildren who were the joy of her life, she worked at Case Western Reserve University for Fisher Scientific and lastly, The Flood Company where she was known for her dedication, work ethic, and sense of humor. She used her skills to help others as a counselor with Hudson Job Search for several years. She loved to laugh and make others laugh. When living in Hudson was no longer possible, she moved to Anna Maria nursing home in Aurora where she was known to befriend other seniors. She often wheeled herself to the piano to play hymns, songs and spirituals for staff and residents and was also known to sing from her bed in the morning. She loved much and was much loved by her family. A memorial service will take place at the First Congregational Church of Hudson at a later time.
