W. Jack Wilson

Wilson, Warren Jackson, "Jack," age 90, passed away March 5, 2021. Beloved husband of 69 years to Jo Ann (nee Gilmore); proud and devoted father of four sons, Jack (Maureen), Jim (Robin), Jeff (Michelle) and Joe (Betsey); cherished Paw Paw of Katie (Tom Bildstein), Erin (Keith Grywalski), Chris (Angela), Jamie (Adam Blythe), David and Drew; great grandfather of Taylor, Tommy & Peyton Bildstein, Carter, Logan & Riley Wilson, Reid & Cace Grywalski and Kinsley Blythe; brother of Gene (Betty) of Columbus.

Born and raised in the Columbus area, Jack was a three-year letterman for the Ohio State University Buckeyes baseball team. He served in the United States Army 11th Airborne Division from 1950-1952, then went on to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league organization, where he led the Georgia Florida League in batting with a .349 average.

In 1963 Jack and Jo Ann relocated their family to Cleveland. Jack served as Associate Vice President and Administrator at Sunny Acres Hospital with the Cuyahoga County Health System, where he retired. Jack was a fifteen-year resident of Twinsburg, Ohio, where he and Jo Ann were active members of the Twinsburg Senior Center.

Jack was a passionate, lifelong baseball player and fan, but what he treasured above all else were his family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 13 at Hine Funeral Home at Crown Hill, 8592 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio. Masks are required and social distancing protocols will be maintained. A service will follow at 1:00 pm.
