Hudson - Margaret Irwin Staley, "Peg", age 92, a 38 year resident of Hudson, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late William Frank Staley, Sr., "Bill", loving mother of William Frank Staley, Jr. (wife, Nellie Milton Staley), Eve Staley Newton (husband, Tom) and Missy Staley Reiner (husband, Dan), dear grandmother of William Clayton Staley (wife Hayley), Nellie Staley Hestin (husband Chris), Ted Newton (wife Meredith), Emma Newton Chapman (husband Dan), Georgia Reiner and Libby Reiner, dear great grandmother of Edward Hestin, Elisabeth Hestin and Isla Staley, and dear sister of the late Martha Irwin Rech. As a young woman, Peg attended the Pennsylvania State University earning a degree in Liberal Arts. Shortly thereafter, she met and fell in love with Bill Staley, and the two built a family together. After living in numerous states across the country, they eventually settled in Hudson, Ohio, where Peg was active in the community, working at the Duncan Gallery, a member of the Country Club of Hudson, and a volunteer at Christ Church Episcopal. In her spare time, Peg enjoyed playing golf and bridge, shopping, watching Grey's Anatomy, reading, and meeting her friends for fun and conversation at Happy Hour in the Bistro at Laurel Lake. The family requests that contributions be made in Peg's memory to THON, or a charity of your choice. THON is a Pennsylvania State University student-run philanthropy committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer.
